The Beautiful Chaos That Is Nashville, TN.

Hi besties! It is one week post Nashville, which means I have almost recovered from my long weekend of beautiful chaos. Key word being "almost". The last time I wrote about Nashville, it was last month and I had the greatest girls trip of all time for my birthday. Well y'all, I did it again. Nashville, TN is adult Disney World and there's literally no other way to describe it. If my first blog post did not convince you to book the flight or take the roadtrip (this time we drove 10 hours because we are psychotic), then I'll try again. If you don't plan the trip after this one, you're the problem. For the next few minutes, I'm going to just write freely about my trip, so you're welcome.

Let me set the scene..

You have 5 elementary school teachers CRAWLING to June, when two of them suggest a spontaneous girls trip the week after the school year ends. A "yeehaw" is let out in unison and BAM! All of a sudden, it's Thursday, June 20th and the girlies are officially off to the land of the free. Three of us roadtripped (10 hours of delusion) and two hopped on a plane. We are not going to talk about who the real winner is here. You either get home in a few short hours or you journey to the end of the Earth, while simultaneously stopping at the most iconic place to ever exist (Buccee's slays). Choose your adventure. Nevertheless, we all reunited for three days at our home sweet Airbnb.

Highlights from the Weekend:

(In no particular order because it is impossible to rank)

  • Staying at Tootsies for quite literally 5 hours on Friday night because we became band groupies. The band loved us so much that they made sure to tell us they would be at Kid Rock the following night. Yes, we did show up there on Saturday.

  • This time, I stayed at an Airbnb that was a six minute walk to Broadway. If you book your trip, highly recommend staying somewhere within walking distance. It makes the go with the flow energy unmatched. We spent Friday and Saturday afternoon at the pool there. The first afternoon that we went to the pool, my friends brought books and were expecting a chill vibe. WRONG. We stepped out of the door to the pool and were instantly surrounded by the silliest people who ever lived. Picture college pool party in a crusty, yet iconic way. Let's just say, we loved every minute of it.

  • Morgan Wallen's bar opened in between me going to Nashville for the first time last month and this second time around. Easily one of my favorite bars there. Y'all, live music just makes me feel alive.

  • I successfully dragged two of my friends to a cycling class at Full Ride Cycling Studio. If you're going to go drinking all weekend, find at least one moment to sweat it all out. It's a fabulous reset. This studio was also so amazing and had great energy.

  • If you're going to Nashville, you have to brunch and you have to brunch in style. Hampton Social. Do I need to say anymore?

  • Before our last night there, we had an espresso martini pregame at our place. Shoutout Alexis for being my favorite bartender in Nashville. Realest talk ever, if you have never pregamed with an espresso martini, what tf are you doing?

  • The cutest coffee shop in the history of coffee shops. It's actually also an ice cream place, called "Mike's Ice Cream". I could have quite literally kissed the girl who made my iced vanilla latte with almond milk. That drink healed me not once, but twice.

  • The corndog stand that stayed open until we got back in the wee hours of the morning right outside the place we were staying in. I don't love corndogs, but my friends were on Cloud 9.

  • Anytime one of us did something nice or positive for the group, we would all shout "GOOD FRIEND ALERT". This trickled into our conversations with random strangers too.

  • My first trip to Buccee's. I truly can not explain how perfect this establishment is. You have to see it for yourself, but wow. Please go.

Quick Story Time About Silly Boys

Remember when I was talking about the crusty pool? Well, on Friday when we were there, we were sitting on the edge of the pool, feet in the water, just people watching for probably the first hour or two that we were there. The girls were girling, when this one guy across the pool tried to signal for us to come over to their group. Naturally, I told them to come to us. When they came over, we all ended up really hitting it off. They were pretty funny and seemed chill, so we talked to them for awhile. We all introduced ourselves and said that we should collab when we go out that night. Fast forward to Friday night, we don't end up meeting up. Instead, we go absolutely nuts with the band at Tootsies. The next day after spin class, we head back to the pool. We again sit on the edge of the pool, feet in the water, and people watch accompanied by our beloved Surfsides. The guys are there again, but they are mingling so we just do our own thing. Eventually they came back over and again, we were vibing and having a grand ol time. I'll give it to them, they were pretty funny and had great energy. One of them was a very cute boy and got my number. We texted a little and I told them to come over to pregame and we could all go out together that night. So by around 9, they were in our place playing drinking games with us. We all made our way to Morgan Wallens, Kid Rock, and back to the Airbnb together.

So seems pretty chill and normal right?

It's Sunday morning. The three of us that roadtripped to Nashville were making the 10 hr treck home. The boy that I was texting never followed me on Instagram, so I went to go look him up to follow him. I type in his first and last name and nothing comes up. So I was like hmm, that's weird..maybe I misspelled his name? Like I mentioned, we are stuck in the car so it's not like I had anything else to do, but to put on my FBI hat. The boys had told us they all met in college when they played football together. They also told us they were between the ages of 24-27. So what did I do? I went to their college's football roster and I looked at the roster from 2021, when I graduated. I start scrolling. I start to recognize their faces and I'm like okay yeah here they are. The first picture I saw was one of the guys we met, but when I looked over at the name next to the picture, it didn't match the name that he introduced himself as. Instead, it was the name of a different friend in the group. I sat there with the most confused look on my face just staring at the picture. So then, I continued to scroll. I came across the next guy in the friend group we met and low and behold, the name next to his picture was a DIFFERENT guy in the group. I finally find the cute boy I was talking to and BAM DIFFERENT NAME. So I look up at my friends in the driver and passenger seat and just go "OH MY GOD". We were BAMBOOZLED. The guys swapped names for the weekend and never mentioned it. Like fully were hanging out with us for two days and never backtracked once. And if that's not enough, they were all 23 years old. We spent the next hour screaming about it, and concluding that we were impressed with their performance. Bravo.

Our live reactions:

In conclusion, you can't trust anyone. I mean you can, but he may actually be named Justin, even though he said his name was Cooper. And he's not really 26, but 23. The audacity HAHAHA.

Second and final in conclusion, the cute boy is in love with me and could be my future husband. You never know.

Long Story Short...

If you have not yet booked the girls trip, get to it! Choose a group that makes you laugh and hypes you up for quite literally anything. Especially when you want to canon ball in a pool full of drunk strangers. If you have dope work friends like me, that's a bonus. Life's too short, be a little weird, and just do!
